My 2 Cents on the Edwards Affair

john_edwards.jpg

Who cares? Let's get over it and move on to more pertinent issues! The affair occurred 2 years ago in 2006. John Edwards confessed to his wife and they handled the matter privately. Since, Edwards does not hold a public office and there is no crime against adultery . . . why is this an issue?

America has bigger issues to deal with. Our Health care system is broken. The prospects of the Iraq War or not great and our Education system is a joke. Our Economy is in shambles and gas prices are unstable causing every other industry to become out of sync. Why does the media give any time to such a trivial issue when there are other more pertinent issues to debate.

Who should America be talking about? Who should they be holding morally accountable for their actions? It is our current President that should be the center of attention. It is he who allowed torture under his administration. It is under his watch that he allowed the Geneva Convention to be violated. It was Bush that presented false evidence that lead us into the quagmire we now call Iraq. Bush is responsible for making our already broken school-system a little more broke. Bush has deceived America and disgraced the Oval Office. Our relationship with the world community has been tarnished all because of President Bush. So, who should we really be judging, a civilians affair or the President's misconduct?

SO SAD!

I feel sorry for Elizabeth Edwards. This is the last thing she needs. This whole Edwards scandal will probably make the media dig up McCain's affair with Cindy McCain and ask why McCain left his first wife. Washington is a sad place.

@Roella

I agree . . . my sympathies are with her and her family. I doubt that the media will care about John McCain's affair with Cindy, you would think they would have jumped on it back in the 80s when he first ran for office. I think what McCain did to his first wife is ten times worst then what Edwards did. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

who gives a fuck

pardon my language, but really...who cares? like you said there are more important issues to say the least!

@elparaguayo

Exactly my point!

I couldn't agree more.

This Edwards affair has acted like other smokescreens in the past...conservatives placing their "morals" upon others to divert our collective attention from the dire situation the Earth is experiencing. I hope we can get wise and keep motivated to actually DO something in spite of these diversions!

@Erin

Well said. I do not understand what the infatuation is with affairs. It isn't that Republicans are immune to them but how can you reason with something that doesn't operate logically?
