Reflection on My 10k
I finished my 10k and I am not dead! This is good news since I was concerned that I might not have been up to it physically nor mentally when it came to the daunting hills in Austin. The route was entertaining . . . the little that I could remember. Honestly, the whole time I was thinking, "Damn, when is the Sea of Red Shirts going to spread out." That never did happen. It was a cluster f*ck of people running side by side. There were over 10,000 runners I heard but who knows.
I was disappointed with my performance only because I hold high standards for myself. I could take into account my crappy new shoes that still need to be broken into. There was also the fact that I had two nasty blisters on both sides of my feet that were causing me much anguish and pain. There was also the collective heat and humidity that I was experiencing from running in a pack of people for over an hour. That coupled with what seemed a short staff of volunteers that were overwhelmed at the water stations making it hard for the runners to hydrate themselves.
At the end of the day I was proud of myself. I was proud and impressed with Marco's time of 55 minutes. One thing is for sure . . . I am looking forward to shattering the time from this 10k in the near future. I will continue to train and I hope that I fulfill my goal of finishing a marathon. In the mean time though, check out the pictures from the race on my Flickr page.

haha
that last pic is great...marco's like "w/e" and you look like ur gonna die. haha...seriously let me know when the next race is (a sponsor i don't hate) and i'll join up !
@Cody
I had literally just finished and Marco had finished about 30 minutes before me so it makes sense why he looks like that. I am not sure when the next race or 10k is coming up but that does not stop you from training to get you ready. I recommend learning how to climb the hills and run at least 7 miles before you take a 10k (which is 6.25 miles) and I wish you the best of luck. Start training soon so once a race does come up, you can join us!
oh yeah
but i'm proud of both y'all !!! woot woot!!!
WOW i can't believe you did it.
Congratulations, Thats amazing. haha I can barely run 2 miles. You have inspired me to hit the track G.
@Chris
Thanks for the support. I can't wait to nurse my blisters and get back on the run. It feels so good doing it and especially when you do it with other people at the same time.
