Introducing the No-Talk Express!

It has been 4 weeks since John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate. It has also been 4 weeks since the McCain camp has even allowed the media any interaction with Palin. Sure, you can give her the Charlie Gibson interview but the Sean Hannity soirée was a joke.

Today the media decided to fight back the only way they could. They denied Palin access to the media she has been denying herself from. The AP claims, “Palin sat down with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe. The conversations were private, the pictures public, meant to build her resume for voters concerned about her lack of experience in world affairs.”

“Before Palin's first meeting of the day, with Karzai, campaign aides had told reporters in the press pool that followed her they could not go into meetings where photographers and a video camera crew would be let in for pictures.”

Then Palin blinked and she succumbed to the media’s strategy and demands. The campaign decided to allow the media in on the action for a mere 29 seconds. Earlier that day the press had decided to ignore the high-profile meeting and banned any use of photographs and video from the event as means to protest the No-Talk Express’ new strategy.

Steve Benen adds, “If only she and her team had the confidence to endure a question or two, the media coverage would have worked to the campaign's advantage. But, no. McCain's team doesn't trust Palin, and can't take the risk of another embarrassment.”

It is only matter of time before this illusion is exposed. Palin is unqualified and the veil will be lifted over the eyes of Americans that romanticize her when she attempts to hold the fort and she fails.
