The Hate in the PA

There is only 1 week left before this political circus is over but this next week will seem like an eternity. A week ago I spoke about how this home stretch would get nasty.

The hate has started in disproportional numbers. As the race heats up in battle ground states such as Nevada or Pennsylvania, the ignorant portions of our population make their way out of the woodwork.

In this YouTube clip, you get an idea of the venom that some McCain/Palin supporters walk around with. It is amazing that there are still individuals that are racist in 2008.

One individual claimed "I do not want to sound racist here, but I don't want a black man running my country."

I am grateful that someone decided to film these events and share it with the online community. If America appears this divided, how do we rectify it? What about the racism ... how do we combat that as well?

I do not think that all Republicans are ignorant or racist but it does not help out their party image when a few extremist hi-jack the party with this hate. This is not how you build a base ... this is how you destroy it and any future for it. Will Obama be the undoing for the GOP?

I speculate that and entertain the idea that the GOP we speak of will do some soul searching and divide. One half will be those ignorant individuals that despise any intellectualism and vote the bible. Sarah Palin will be their leader with her populist folksy message that they will just eat up as long as she votes Jesus. The other half will be the intellectual, ivy league, old money Republican that cannot stand those ignorant individuals that destroyed the party of Theodore Roosevelt in their eyes.

Whatever happens November 4th, believe me, there will be change whether Republicans or Democrats like it or not.
