I saw the Yes We Can video by will.i.am supporting Barack Obama. As I have said in the past, this election and future elections are different and video created and submitted videos will have an impact on the voters. The original was created by David Pompeii and it mocked John McCain. At first it seems like a tribute but upon listening to the lyrics and watching the reactions of the singers one clearly notes the intention of the song. America has been hurt by the past 8 years and we need change. McCain does not promise any change and in fact can only promote what has been going on to persist. The will.i.am tribute video has received almost 3 million views since it was distributed. It bothers me that conservatives can consistently undermine American values and principles by supporting candidates that will undermine those values. They are too proud to accept the fact that America would be a better country without their candidates. Is it me or does anyone else feel that way?

Roadtrip to Austin, Texas!

Any excuse to go to Austin is a valid excuse to go to Austin. I spent my college years in that wonderful city and my partner is still there (while she transitions into the next phase of her life) so I visit quite often. I still have ties to the city so you can not imagine how estatic I became when I learned that CNN/Univision will partner with the University of Texas to host the Texas Democratic Debate. It will take place next Thursday, February 21, 2008 and believe me I will be in town to at least witness the event. I am currently trying to figure out how I can obtain tickets for the event. My partner is an Obama supporter and I am undecided. This will be a pleasant surprise for her since she is currently out of town. Let the games begin!
